Employment Relations Manager

 Job Title:                    Employment Relations Manager

Key Requirements: –

  • Be of excellent character.
  • Educated to a degree level.
  • Hold a minimum of 3 years experience within a managerial or leadership position, with a proven track record for effective performance management across a diverse range of staff teams.

Job purpose: –

  • The Employment Relations Manager has overall responsibility for the management of GALRO’s HR function; development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, strategies and initiatives, consistent with and aligned to GALRO’s overall service provision, regulatory compliance and Employment
  • The Employment Relations Manager is supported in their role by a team of General Assistants.
  • The Employment Relations Manager oversees multi-location services to ensure the provision of effective staff teams.
  • The Employment Relations Manager collaborates with GALRO management teams to plan, develop, implement and promote overall employee engagement and communication across the organisation, while continuously monitoring staff compliance levels to company policies and procedures, along with relevant employment regulations.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: –

 

  1. Manage GALRO’s recruitment personnel and processes to ensure timely and effective advertisement, screening, selection, pre-employment, hiring and induction of employees.

 

  1. Be responsible for managing the employee’s experience from the moment the individual applies for a position to when they begin working and throughout their employment with GALRO.

 

  1. Monitor contracts of employment, negotiation and administration.

 

  1. Oversee GALRO’s training and development requirements to meet employee needs, service objectives, employment law and related Codes of Practice.

 

  1. Provide management, support, guidance and professional development to HR staff and conduct performance reviews as required.

 

  1. Maintain records of all employee related data in an established computerised central storage system to ensure all employment requirements are met, including ISO employee related documentation, in accordance with relevant Data Protection legislation and GDPR regulations.

Human Resource Administrator

Main Responsibility:
The provision of support and information to Management in their role and to ensure that GALRO has sufficient numbers of suitably qualified staff to enable it to meet its service objectives effectively. Be actively involved in the recruitment process. Work with management to assist them in understanding and effectively implementing procedures and policies. Ensure procedures, policies and practices are in line with core diversity and equality values. Be the first point of contact for all Human Resources related queries. Develop and maintain relevant staff policies and procedures, including Health & Safety policies. Ensure all staff are aware of their role in relation to operational practices and policies. Initiate necessary reviews and audits to ensure adherence to such policies and procedures. Maintain and devise a suitable database of training requirements and delivery, ensuring all staff receive adequate induction training and complete all assigned mandatory training.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Human Resources:

• Ensure that GALRO has a full complement of suitable and appropriately qualified staff, to ensure it meets its service objectives and obligations.
• In consultation with the Employment Relations Manager and the Heads of Care, take responsibility for the identification of staffing requirements, including staff numbers, qualifications, relevant experience and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and carry out all recruitment needs in relation to the filling of identified vacancies, including preparing job descriptions and job specifications, advertisements, short listing candidates, interviewing and selection of employees.
• Carry out all the necessary administrative functions involved with the recruitment of staff, including conducting reference checks, securing relevant Garda vetting and international police clearance, collecting relevant candidate qualifications, training, driving licences, photo ID’s and health declarations, and ensuring selected candidates complete all relevant documentation, along with issuing contracts of employment and relevant policies and procedures to selected candidates.
• Inform GALRO Accounts department of new employees, providing all necessary and relevant information, such as pay rates, hours of work and bank account details.
• Develop and deliver a staff induction programme.
• Devise, update and distribute a suitable employee handbook.
• Develop new staff policies and continuously review existing staff policies to ensure they are in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations and best practice.
• Ensure that GALRO’s HR function operates in accordance with best practice and complies with all relevant employment legislation.

• Report on attendance and absenteeism figures on a monthly basis, or more often as required. Conduct back to work interviews, liaise with medical professionals and staff in relation to long term absences and liaise with insurance firms etc., as applicable.
• Support and assist the Employment Relations Manager at any tribunal, or third party hearings.
• Take responsibility for the Health and Safety of Staff (see duties of Health and Safety Officer below).

Health and Safety:

• Develop, implement and monitor the Staff Health, Safety and Welfare Policy within GALRO.
• Provide health and safety support to the Employment Relations Manager and the Heads of Care.
• Promote and increase awareness of health, safety and welfare amongst staff and management in GALRO.
• Monitor and ensure all GALRO workplaces are in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and policies.
• Conduct risk assessments on an ongoing basis, or as required by regulation or workplace experience, and compile appropriate databases to report on trends.
• Arrange and carry out regular inspections of sites to ensure employee compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with investigations and report on any accidents or complaints received.
• Carry out safety induction with all new employees as part of the staff induction programme.
• Conduct appropriate Health & Safety training courses for staff.

Clinical Psychologist

Occupational Therapist

To evaluate client Occupational Therapy needs, identify Occupational Therapy requirements, formulate treatment plans and treat clients who present with various congenital conditions, illnesses or injuries, using specialised equipment and the therapeutic application of daily activity.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: –

  1. To deliver an Occupational Therapy service in GALRO of the highest clinical standard.

 

  1. Responsible for Occupational Therapy assessments, formulation of treatment plans and overseeing the application of Occupational Therapy interventions.

 

  1. To liaise and communicate effectively and supportively with management, care staff and multi-disciplinary team members.

 

  1. Maintain accurate electronic and hard copy records in line with clinical governance, GALRO requirements and GDPR regulation.

 

  1. Responsible for supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants, guiding and supporting them in their day to day duties.

 

  1. To act as a resource for front line care staff to consult with for the purpose of enhancing quality of care in relation to Occupational Therapy interventions.

 

  1. Establish a suitable Occupational Therapy referral system that meets the needs of clients, GALRO and is in compliance with clinical governance, best practice and legislative requirements.

Assistant Support Worker

Introduction

GALRO services provides for rehabilitative supportive solutions for children and vulnerable adults to ensure their welfare and foster independence. Job Description:

  • Work as part of a team to care for, protect and support vulnerable service users, individually and in groups, as directed by line management and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Work as part of a care team on a shift based roster incorporating day, night and weekend duty.
  • Take on household roles including Health and Safety Officer, Finance Officer, as assigned by line management.
  • Contribute to the planning and review of individualised personal plans, which are based on assessed needs identified in consultation with the service user and/or families and relevant professionals.
  • Participate in meetings pertaining to the care and support of service users.
  • Ensure the primary needs of service users are met. This includes meal preparationand cooking in line with food planners, personal and intimate care provision in line with policy and procedure.
  • Provide emotional support to service users and liaise professionally with significant people in the person’s life such as parents and siblings.
  • Support and encourage service users to learn new skills.
  • Arrange and actively engage in age appropriate activity.
  • Facilitate and attend appointments with service users as directed by line management.
  • Supervise service users in accordance with their support requirements.
  • Actively participate in the management of behaviours that concern and promote positive behaviour in line organisation policy and procedure for the provision of behaviour support.
  • Administer medication to service users in line with GALRO’s Medication Management policy and individualised procedures and protocols.
  • Undertake various aspects of home management including household chores, food shopping, keeping financial records, cleaning and hygiene standard upkeep.
  • Be responsible for the upkeep of daily record keeping including daily reports, incident report, cleaning schedules, medication and administration records.
  • Provide accurate and concise information at each handover and give verbal and written feedback on the progress of the service users, as required.
  • Report notifiable events to line management in accordance with GALRO policy.
  • As a mandated person, ensure that service users are not subjected to any forms of abuse and adhere to reporting procedures in place.
  • Strictly adhere to the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and GALRO’s Health and Safety Statement.
  • Be familiar with all GALRO care and staff policies and at all times adhere to procedures in place.
  • In conjunction with line management ensure that the care of service users both on and off site is risk assessed.

Support Worker
