Assistant Community Manager

The main duties of the Supervising Assistant are as follows:
• In conjunction with line manager and other professionals carry out needs-led assessments and risk assessment at admission and when exploring rehabilitation and support options.
• Create, update and maintain all Personal Support plans for service users in conjunction with key workers, service users, their families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure that staff complete key working sessions in order for service users to reach their set goals.
• Work with the team providing information on service/support options for individual service users.
• Respond to service users support needs in the community and negotiate with identified community services on behalf of service users.
• Liaise with staff to ensure that all standards set out for ‘New Directions’ are delivered, implemented and monitored and that evidence of same is apparent.
• Complete staff induction with new staff members.
• Complete necessary audits when required.
• Liaise with lead staff on a daily basis to implement processes necessary for service provision
• Act as a liaison between service users their families and staff as needed.
• Network in the community, identifying and co-ordinating community services and supports in the best interest of the service user group.
• Negotiate placements with community service providers/employers on behalf of a service user.
• Carry out staff supervision when required.
• Analyse and oversee time and attendance system for Community staff including declared rosters and link in with staff and Head Office regarding same.
• Monitor, supervise and ensure medication records are maintained in accordance with policies, procedures and best practice.
• Develop and maintain budget plans for service users and ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with policies, procedures and best practice.
• Prepare weekly/monthly reports as required and send to line manager.
• Support front line staff to complete reports correctly.
• Attend staff disciplinary meetings when deemed necessary.
• Attend Multidisciplinary and Personal Plan review meetings for service users as requested by line manager.
• Follow up on application for housing, rent allowance, medical cards, and social welfare entitlements on behalf of service users.
• Liaise with mentors and support staff to ensure all service users are actively engaging with community services, i.e., QQI courses, employment opportunities etc.
• Observe team members working practices and report issues that arise to line manager.
• Liaise with and co-ordinate daily operations for the Maintenance and Cleaning staff in the absent of the Community Service Manager.
• Co-ordinate community transport fleet in the absence of the Community Service Manager.
• In conjunction with line manager ensure paperwork at all work locations within the area of responsibility comply with GALRO policies and procedures, current statutory requirements, HSE guidelines and HIQA standards if applicable.
• Attend meetings and take minutes as requested.
• Participate in weekend roster as required.
• Participate in out-of-hours on call duty as required.
• Carry out mentor duties in conjunction with the above role

Person In Charge

JOB TITLE: PERSON IN CHARGE (PIC)

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:
1. To ensure effective and efficient daily management of all aspects of operational delivery of residential services under their area of responsibility/control.
2. Nominated manager to ensure the provision of high quality, responsive and sustainable services in accordance with HIQA regulations and relevant legislation (including Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Children and Trust in Care).
3. Nominated person in charge of assigned designated centre(s) in accordance with the Health Act 2007 (Care and Support of residents in the Designated Centres for Persons (Children and Adults) with Disabilities) Regulations 2013 and the National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities.
4. Safeguarding and protection of all residents in assigned designated centres.
5. Setting and maintaining quality standards across all assigned designated centres.
6. To provide formal and informal training to social care staff as required to ensure they understand documentation and complete forms/reports in standardised format.
7. To devise new or revise existing policies and procedures in consultation with Senior Management and HR.
8. Ensure that current policies and procedures that guide practice are implemented in each assigned designated centre.
9. Carry out weekly audits to ensure all documentation and records are in place, completed correctly and up to date at each assigned designated centre.
10. Carry out needs-led assessments and risk assessments for new admissions in consultation with Senior Management, referral sources, professionals and family members.
11. Participate in six-monthly unannounced service evaluations as requested and contribute to the evaluation report and action plans for improvement to services.
12. Complete annual report for each assigned designated centre in consultation with Senior Management.
13. Advise on improvements to services to enhance quality for service users and to meet HIQA standards and any relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.
14. Direct and support Designated Centre Management Team, and ensure they are kept up to date with revised policies and procedures new legislation and guidelines from HIQA.
15. Assist Senior Managers with registration of new centres.
16. Advise and direct Designated Centre Managers to keep all necessary records and make all necessary notifications to HIQA.
17. Carry out regular supervision with Designated Centre Managers and staff responsible to the role.
18. Advise and assist Senior Management on matters relating to service user programmes and rehabilitation needs and safeguarding or welfare matters.
19. Develop and operate efficient systems for monitoring the service, giving feed-back to Senior Management and progress reporting.
20. Work with all stakeholders including Management and front line staff to develop and implement innovative programmes and initiatives to address evolving and/or unmet needs.
21. Prepare documents and reports relevant to GALRO services and individual service users. Attend meetings, case conferences and reviews to promote the best interest of service users.
22. Participate in GALRO 24 hour on-call roster and respond promptly to emergency call-out or give advice to front line staff.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE POST:

1. Contribute to improved outcomes for children and adults who present with behaviour challenges.
2. Apply positive behaviour support methods to promote skills and strategies for optimum independence.
3. Carry out comprehensive assessments to define behaviours, and establish function of the presenting behaviour.
4. Analyse presenting behaviour, function of the behaviour and advise reactive strategies.
5. Devise problem-solving strategies to assist service users to cope with challenges in their daily lives.
6. Devise behaviour management plans and behaviour support plans with recommended interventions to improve the overall quality of life for service users.
7. Devise comprehensive positive behaviour support plans with detailed analysis of behaviour, and recommend strategies for implementation by front line staff, including environmental adjustments, alternative retorts, skills teaching techniques, direct interventions and reactive strategies.
8. Contribute to plans for the purpose of providing for a safe and effective care service.
9. Draw up guidelines, procedures and behaviour management training materials, to assist staff to appropriately respond to behaviour challenges.
10. Review behaviour management and behaviour support plans in collaboration with management and front-line staff, recommending improvements, adjustments and change as necessary, to enhance the service users general wellbeing.
11. Conduct workshops and in-service training in behaviour support, to assist front line staff.

Senior Clinical Psychologist

  • Be of good character.

Principal Function: –

To evaluate client Occupational Therapy needs, identify Occupational Therapy requirements, formulate treatment plans and treat clients who present with various congenital conditions, illnesses or injuries, using specialised equipment and the therapeutic application of daily activity.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: –

  1. To deliver an Occupational Therapy service in GALRO of the highest clinical standard.

 

  1. Responsible for Occupational Therapy assessments, formulation of treatment plans and overseeing the application of Occupational Therapy interventions.

 

  1. To liaise and communicate effectively and supportively with management, care staff and multi-disciplinary team members.

 

  1. Maintain accurate electronic and hard copy records in line with clinical governance, GALRO requirements and GDPR regulation.

 

  1. Responsible for supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants, guiding and supporting them in their day to day duties.

 

  1. To act as a resource for front line care staff to consult with for the purpose of enhancing quality of care in relation to Occupational Therapy interventions.

 

  1. Establish a suitable Occupational Therapy referral system that meets the needs of clients, GALRO and is in compliance with clinical governance, best practice and legislative requirements.

 

  1. Conduct physical assessments of clients referred, with clearly documented risk assessments associated with the therapeutic environment and/or treatment plan.

 

  1. Develop treatment plans to be applied in various environments including home, community and controlled environments.

Assistant Support Worker

Introduction

GALRO services provides for rehabilitative supportive solutions for children and vulnerable adults to ensure their welfare and foster independence. GALRO services include residential services, respite services, community-based mentoring services, Ability Therapy Service and specialised models of care for people referred by the HSE and TUSLA.

Job Description:

  • Work as part of a team to care for, protect and support vulnerable service users, individually and in groups, as directed by line management and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Work as part of a care team on a shift based roster incorporating day, night and weekend duty.
  • Take on household roles including Health and Safety Officer, Finance Officer, as assigned by line management.
  • Contribute to the planning and review of individualised personal plans, which are based on assessed needs identified in consultation with the service user and/or families and relevant professionals.

  • As a mandated person, ensure that service users are not subjected to any forms of abuse and adhere to reporting procedures in place.

  • As a mandated person, ensure that service users are not subjected to any forms of abuse and adhere to reporting procedures in place.
  • Strictly adhere to the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and GALRO’s Health and Safety Statement.
  • Be familiar with all GALRO care and staff policies and at all times adhere to procedures in place.
  • In conjunction with line management ensure that the care of service users both on and off site is risk assessed.
  • Undertake training as required and when directed by line management.

Support Worker

Introduction

GALRO services provides for rehabilitative supportive solutions for children and vulnerable adults to ensure their welfare and foster independence. GALRO services include residential services, respite services, community-based mentoring services, Ability Therapy Service and specialised models of care for people referred by the HSE and TUSLA.
Job Description:

  • Work as part of a team to care for, protect and support vulnerable service users, individually and in groups, as directed by line management and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Work as part of a care team on a shift based roster incorporating day, night and weekend duty.
  • Provide shift leadership when directed by line management and carry out lead staff duties, including fire warden, first aid and delegation responsibilities.
  • Take on household roles including Fire Safety Officer, Medication Officer, Health and Safety Officer, Finance Officer, as assigned by line management.
  • Work as a key worker for the service user if assigned by line management.
  • Contribute to the planning and review of individualised personal plans, which are based on assessed needs identified in consultation with the service user and/or families and relevant professionals.
  • Participate in meetings pertaining to the care and support of service users.
  • Ensure the primary needs of service users are met. This includes meal preparationand cooking in line with food planners, personal and intimate care provision in line with policy and procedure.
  • Provide emotional support to service users and liaise professionally with significant people in the person’s life such as parents and siblings.
  • Support and encourage service users to learn new skills.
  • Arrange and actively engage in age appropriate activity.
